In line with the tradition, the bands present in (medieval) festivals must come to the stages where they will play at least half an hour before the start time of their concerts. For acoustic instruments to respond well, however, they need to be outdoors and in the shade (i.e. outside the case or cover) for at least one hour, during which time they should be tuned several times. This ritual takes place in the vicinity of the spaces where the musicians are to perform, many times on the steps of cathedrals, palaces or among fortifications. It is a time dedicated exclusively to concerts, about which the public is unaware and which represent extensions of the performances themselves. There are times when Nomen Est Omen, inspired by Samuel Beckett’s play, is eagerly awaiting for Godot.
